Tiny Collab Release: Robotnik

IMG_1912

We are super excited to introduce and tap our first “tiny collab” series beer on Saturdat 1/11. The idea with tiny collab is to invite brewers into our tiny brewhouse in NoDa to collaborate and to serve as a blank canvas to really experiment with new processes, styles, and/or ingredients with us. The only restriction is that all of the beers from this series will be naturally carbonated in the keg or bottle.

Our first tiny collab beer is named Robotnik and was brewed with Dan Waden, owner and co-founder of Wooden Robot

Robotnik – Brett Lager – 6.2%: It started off as a Pilsner featuring 100% Epiphany Pilsner malt along with a healthy dose of Tettnanger and Waiti hops in the kettle. After a long cool primary lager fermentation we added Brettanomyces to finish the job. After a long rest in the fermentor, we dosed the resulting beer with fresh yeast and sugar to carbonate naturally in the keg. Aromas of fresh-cut lemon, lime, and grapefruit. A light biscuit malt balanced flavor profile with a slight rustic hay funk and dry hop finish.

For the tapping tomorrow, we are also serving one of Wooden Robot’s awesome brews in our taproom named Weathered Root.

Weathered Root – Farmhouse IPA – 6.2%: Brewed with Charlotte brewing veteran, and our good friend, Sam from Weathered Ground Brewery in Cool Ridge, WV. This farmhouse IPA is fermented with our mixed saison culture and hopped with bold, fruity American hops. The interplay of fruity hops and yeast makes this beer delightfully complex and intriguing.

So come by either our NoDa taproom to give Robotnik a try while it lasts.

Our next tiny collab partner will be with Amor Artis which will be brewed on 1/23.
